Interview With REDBOI

1. How would you describe your musical style?

My style is southern. it’s Mobile, Alabama’s style so yall might not be used to this. It’s gritty Straight to the point and in your face, i be telling it like it is type of style. its no mumble rap. its reality rap. Ima gangsta. Ima country boy, but i’m intelligent. and when you put them together that’s when you get my kinda style.

2. What is the first album you owned?

The first album i owned was that Boosie and Webbie Gangsta Musik.

3. How do you prepare before going up on stage?

.I drank on a lil some. and blow bout a half a backwood backstage and im ready. i already be booting up with my people on da way to da club so im on dat level when i get there foreal.

4. If we’re going to buy you a drink, what should it be?

Get me a long Island iced tea.

5. What’s a song that has been stuck in your head these days?

Red Boi – Pop out. Google it or youtube it and you’ll see.

6. Who’s your favorite artist?

Boosie and Pimp c. RIP Sweet Jones mayne

7. Tell us about the first song you made. Was it a success or a failure?

i was bout 11/12. Me and my lil cousin Ariel recorded this song on cool edit pro. I can’t remember the name of it but i remember we had made it on this program called cool edit pro. Mayne we had the whole house jumping on that song, singing it word for word. That’s when i figured i needed to take this music serious. And RIP to my cousin Ariel. She died about a year ago in a wreck. That was like my lil sister man. She was the first person I ever did a song with. I do this for her, you feel me. I know she is looking down on me so I gotta go hard for her. She has always supported me since day 1. Literally. RIP Ariel.

8. What is the story behind “FILL IN BLANK”

I came up on music. I love it. My family loves it. Every holiday and sometimes on random weekends my dad had family parties at the crib when I was growing up and pretty much everybody was invited. I saw how people loved to turn up when the music was playing. Especially when it was a song that everybody knew. I wanted that song that everybody knew and danced to. And plus I liked how you could tell life stories in these records. and when i found out that you could get paid for it. it was up then.

9.If you could pick one or the other, what would you choose, the money or the fame?

Money all day everyday. yall can have that fame. I wanna give back to people who gave to me one day, and also give back to the community.

10.If you could go back in time or in the future, which one would you choose and why?

I would go back in time. Main reason is to bring my cousin Ariel back, and also make some different choices in life. I don’t want the future. I don’t want to speed up life. Thats stupid. It’s already short as it is.
