Rising from the Trenches: 2227lipoppa’s Journey to the Top

Meet 2227lipoppa, the Mississippi-born artist with a relentless drive to make it out of the trenches and carve a path to success. His story is one of determination, passion, and the power of family. Hailing from McComb, Mississippi, 2227lipoppa is on a mission to prove that creativity is the key to breaking through obstacles, and his music is his tool of choice.

Though he’s only been officially recording music for eight months, his journey started much earlier. He remembers crafting beats and writing rhymes on BandLab with his brothers back in middle school. “I was about 13 or 14 when I started, but I got caught up in my basketball dreams,” he explains. Music had to take a back seat for a while, but after a missed opportunity right before high school graduation, 2227lipoppa knew it was time to fully commit to his music. “I’m a star trying to get my family out of the trenches,” he says, and that determination drives every lyric he writes.

His first official release, Road 2 Riches, was a collaboration with his brothers in the game, pacclyfe and daxhosen5. “Those are my brothers!” 2227lipoppa exclaims. Together, they’re building something bigger than music—it’s a movement. The Southern hip hop and melodic trap sound that defines his style is both reflective and forward-thinking, rooted in his roots but with an eye on the future.

As an independent artist, 2227lipoppa has already made waves in his community. Shoutouts to BombSquad ATL for giving him a chance to showcase his talent, and despite not being signed to a label just yet, he’s hungry for the right deal to take his career to the next level. “I want to build my own empire, run a business, and even create a program for young ones who had it tough coming up,” he shares. His ultimate goal is to spread love and positivity, helping the next generation break through the same barriers he’s facing.

With his upcoming project Astral Thoughts dropping on January 7th, 2025, 2227lipoppa is ready to prove that his journey is just beginning. His upcoming releases, including his latest single Road 2 Riches, are available on all streaming platforms. And as for the future? 2227lipoppa envisions himself traveling the world, building his business empire, and performing to packed crowds. “In five years, I see myself rich off my creativity, taking care of my family, and breaking generational curses,” he says, speaking with confidence and clarity.
