From Athens, Ohio, James Edward Evans, also known as Merlin Crowley, is a powerhouse in classic rock. With a career spanning back to 1977, he has mastered the art of writing, producing, and performing—handling guitars, keyboards, bass, and vocals all on his own.
His first project, “Sleight of Hand” by Ten of Clubs, set the stage for a prolific career that now boasts over 11,000 original songs. Inspired by Alex Lifeson of Rush, James continues to push musical boundaries. His latest release, “The Last Rock Star”, is already making waves on Audiomack, with plans for a concert movie in the works.
While he previously owned a label that folded, his vision remains strong—seeking a record deal tied to a TV show or film to blend his passions for music and screenwriting. Having performed for crowds of 20,000—twice, he envisions himself touring with Wolfgang Van Halen and eventually earning the title “Man of the Year” in TIME Magazine within five years.
