Leon Thomas links up with Halle for the first time, and the result is a hauntingly beautiful duet that captures the heartbreak of staying in a love that’s already lost its spark. “RATHER BE ALONE” blends contemporary R&B with soft, adult contemporary vibes, showcasing both artists’ vocal depth and emotional range.
Fresh off the success of his rising hit “MUTT”—currently climbing the Hot 100—Leon keeps the momentum going with this new release. The original “MUTT” already drew major attention, leading to a high-profile remix with Chris Brown, but “RATHER BE ALONE” proves he’s not just riding a wave—he’s expanding his sound and taking creative risks.
For Halle, known for both her solo music and work as half of Chloe x Halle, the collaboration is another reminder of her versatility. The chemistry here is subtle but undeniable, as both artists navigate the pain of realizing that sometimes, solitude is more honest than forced connection.
