The tension between 50 Cent and Jim Jones is nothing new, but the latest chapter proves their rivalry is still very much alive. After Jim Jones and his co-hosts—Maino, Dave East, and Fabolous—launched their new podcast Let’s Rap About It, they likely didn’t expect 50 to immediately turn it into roast material.
The situation escalated after the podcast crew criticized 50 Cent’s involvement in the Netflix Diddy docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning. From there, 50 wasted no time firing back—this time by mocking the podcast’s alleged studio conditions.
Videos circulating via Livebitez and DJ Akademiks show 50 posting clips that appear to depict the Let’s Rap About It studio without power. One video shows people sitting in the dark using flashlights, while another features cartoon eyes floating on a black screen. In typical 50 fashion, he layered the trolling with sarcasm and captions, even suggesting Cam’ron had something to do with the lights being off.
He doubled down with a skit of his own, pretending to film a Super Bowl promo before the lights suddenly cut out—clearly meant as another jab. The posts also subtly referenced Cam’ron’s ongoing issues with Jim Jones, tying the moment into the broader post-Dipset fallout that’s been unfolding publicly.
Despite the jokes, Jim Jones appeared unbothered, thanking both 50 Cent and Cam’ron for what he called “free promo.” It’s a familiar response in a feud that has stretched back decades.
The beef between 50 Cent and Jim Jones dates back to the early 2000s, when G-Unit and The Diplomats were at odds. While things have cooled and reheated over the years, the most recent spark came from criticism tied to the Diddy documentary. Since then, both sides have traded insults about money, relevance, industry relationships, and clout.
This also isn’t the first time 50 has targeted Jim Jones’ media ventures. In the past, he leaked audio allegedly involving Jones’ landlord accusing him of owing back rent—another example of how personal and public their exchanges can get.
For now, Jones and his co-hosts have largely brushed off the trolling, just as 50 has ignored a recent freestyle aimed in his direction. Even with other conflicts pulling their attention elsewhere, one thing seems certain: whenever the opportunity arises, 50 Cent and Jim Jones won’t hesitate to clown each other for the culture—and the laughs.
