Clayton Howard, a former escort, is representing himself in a high-profile $20 million lawsuit against Diddy and Cassie, alleging trafficking and being knowingly exposed to an STD. In a recent development, Howard won court approval to file a critical legal brief on his own, citing his ongoing law studies as a basis for his ability to navigate the complex case.
“I am actively pursuing a law degree, so I have some skill in presenting these points correctly, and in a manner the court will deem appropriate to form,” Howard told Judge Arun Subramanian.
The lawsuit claims that Howard was trafficked across state lines for Diddy’s so-called “freak-off” parties, which Cassie allegedly helped coordinate. He also alleges that Cassie became pregnant by him, had an abortion without informing him, and then resumed sexual relations. According to Howard, Cassie recruited him through an escort agency around 2009, using aliases, while Diddy reportedly went by “Frank Black.” He claims Cassie facilitated paid encounters, including threesomes and voyeuristic sessions.
Howard argues that Cassie was an active participant in the trafficking operation, not merely a victim, and is seeking damages for emotional trauma, medical expenses, and lost income.
In addition, Howard accuses federal prosecutors and a court-appointed pro bono attorney of attempting to silence him to protect Cassie’s credibility. In a detailed motion, he requested permission to file a 17-page supplemental reply, citing evidence of alleged misconduct and collusion. The judge granted the request, highlighting both the complexity of Howard’s claims and his growing legal acumen.
Howard’s filings reference constitutional law and statutory sentencing issues, signaling his ambition to think like a future attorney. The case unfolds as Diddy serves a 50-month federal sentence for transporting individuals for prostitution, while being acquitted of sex-trafficking and racketeering charges. Cassie previously settled a civil case with Diddy for $20 million in November 2023.
Howard’s lawsuit remains active, with alternative methods approved to serve Cassie, who has reportedly been difficult to locate. No court has yet ruled on the merits of his claims.
