What is your name/stage name?
My real name is Benjamin Krüger and my stage name is ASTARON. Currently with Krautman at first to make a reference to Krautrock music time in the 70s in Germany.
Where are you from?
I live in Germany in Bavaria.
What do you do?
I work in the social section as a Psychiatrist.
How long have you been making music?
Since 2001.
Who’s your biggest inspiration?
Freyah Martell HIGHERTRACKS CEO, WODAWIC Roderic Robinson, Wetwire, Joy Division, David Bowie, Queen, The Can, Johnny Cash, A-HA, George Michael, Moody Blues, King Crimson, Susumu Hirasawa, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, JS Bach, the Doors, John Maus, Ariel Pink, The Cure, Marco Beasley, Stefano Landi and many others.
I don’t have a specific one. Because only having one inspiration would keep me simple focused. I listen everywhere. WODAWIC Roderic Robinson, a very good guitar player made me do music again in 2019.
What genre of music do you create?
Hard question. First Indie Rock. Very David Bowie influenced. And very melancholic. I had to switch to EDM or Reggaeton Rap afterwards with changing the pitch of my voice to be more effective. I did that after honest feedback from a 100k label. Thathard Magazine. The Grëat Music.
What was it like working with (collabs?)
I did a collaboration with Christian Peruti, a French singer and songwriter who was 1997 in the French TV. But I had to make the track myself and did the mixing and mastering myself. The track is called Ma DOUCE France. Wasn’t good. I am better on my own since I am very critical to myself in terms of perfection.
What are some features you have?
Being original, an analogue 120k $ equipment like the analog catalog of Legowelt. Crafting Novelties. Being not as the same as other artists. I always look to make music different from other artists. If I make the same music as others, what makes me that special? I don’t walk in already used shoes.
My BIO:
Benjamin Krüger is a German Artist who foremost handcraft electronic music. He made music for years developing his own style of doing music. Some call it strange, authentic or sometimes too much. But his goal is to find the perfect melodic high hook moment in every track he makes. He prefers quality beyond quantity. He works with many analog machines (see down description) and rock equipment. His equipment did cost him a lot of money. But his machines are defining his style and art of making music. His sound is what can’t be compared. He has his own sound. Something you won’t hear anywhere else. Currently he works as a psychologist. This gives him another view on the world and he does express the feelings combined in his work. His music is an experience, not a lightweight but definitely an impression how to do it otherwise. Get ready for his art and be entertained on a higher level. An underground phenomenon.
What are some features you want to get?
A band. Playing in a band or combining ideas to be even more original. To make a brand. A movement. A change of direction. A mark into the industry. To stand out. To spread a message to the audience.
Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?
K-Tip, Dr. Dre, Bones Team Sesh. As producer or lyrically.
Are you signed to a label?
I was within Rabies Dog Records Sweden. Not anymore now, as I had to care about everything myself.
Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?
Depends on what I have to make myself for distribution or promotion. If I have to pay for myself, why should I make a deal? This was the reason I left Rabies Dog Records.
Who are your biggest supporters?
Thathard Network, Thathard Magazine, The Grëat Music.
Where did your name come from?
Which name? The Artist name? It came from my youth. To always fight in every situation. Also I used it as a former french legion soldier in north Africa. But I can’t go into details. Forbidden.
What are you currently working on?
To craft a novelty in the music genre within Reggaeton and analog machines EDM. Also original Rap music like Tyler the Creator. Not graveyard rap like Bones from Team Sesh. I hate drugs.
What is your latest release?
It’s Paradise RISING. A release which is Sofia Reyes 1,2,3 influenced and a bit of mainstream. I combined my singing voice and the rap shape changed voice there.
When is your next release?
I don’t know really, I need a new idea at the moment. But it will always be a novelty. Something which is probably otherwise as others do. Which can’t be related. This gives me the chance to stand out from others. It sounds different. I would also use beats if I would like them. But I love it more to create the music for myself to be more into it intensively within my feelings. It connects better.
