How serious are you about your career?
Hey there, my name is TLP. I’m a South African rapper. I’m about as serious, or more so driven-to-succeed, as one could possibly be when it comes to music. I’ve been rapping for about 10+ years and really started to come into my own after a lot of pondering throughout the pandemic. My main goal in life is to make a liveable income from doing music and I fully believe that I can. Always looking to network and make new connections such as this.
Who inspires you the most?
I’d say my biggest inspiration has to be Lil’ Wayne. ASAP Rocky also has a mild, but fairly important role in inspiration too.In synesthesia terms, a lot of music I aim to make would give off a shade of purple; like ASAP Rocky.
What got you into making music?
I started rapping because of Lil’ Wayne way back when Carter III was released. My friends and I would beatbox “A Milli” and freestyle over it almost every single second of the day. Drake would also be a heavy influence, as So Far Gone was also out during this era. I was a super fan of Young Money and always hold their careers dear to my heart.
Who is your favorite producer?
My favorite producer… Growing up I always got hyped for Timbaland and Swizz Beats being a part of pretty much anything. Metro Boomin also deserves some praise from my point of view.
What is one of your best songs/beats?
My song I’d like to present is called “Out My Way”. Not my latest, but I feel it’s one that encapsulates where I’m going musically.
