Justin Hughes; Cheshire, England
Q: What is your name/stage name?
A “Justin Hughes“
Q: Where are you from?
A “I’m from a little town in Cheshire in the north-west of England.“
Q: How long have you been making music?
A “I’ve been in love with music since I was like 10 years old, when I was 12 I joined a choir for a couple years and then got more into rap music.
In high school. Coming to the end of high school I finally started recording and releasing music though.“
Q: Who’s your biggest inspiration?
A “I’ve got too many inspirations to count. Some of the artists I’m incredibly inspired by are artists like Tyler, the Creator and Frank Ocean. I’m also inspired by artists like Quadeca, a smaller artist emerging from YouTube, who went from a stereotypical teenage YouTube rapper to an incredibly talented, versatile artist and producer.“
Q: What genre of music do you create?
A “I love to mix genres. I’m very big on hip hop and trap but I love to mix elements of pop, hyperpop and more recently RnB.“
Q: Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?
A “I’d LOVE to work with Brakence on some experimental emo pop or Joji on a reverbed RnB piano ballad. On the rap side, I’d love to work with bbno$ on a fun, bouncy banger or with Travis Scott on some dark, cinematic trap.“
Q: Are you signed to a label?
A “No, I’m currently independent.“
Q: Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?
A “I would love a record deal or anything to help me push my work to more people in any way.“
Q: Who are your biggest supporters?
A “My friends, all of the people who listen to and work with me on my music. They’ve helped me work on and improve my craft massively.“
Q: What are you currently working on?
A “I’ve recently started on a full-length album, a Hip Hop and RnB project. Still in early days of this project but the working title for it is currently ‘Moral Support’ and I can’t wait for people to hear it.“
