Rizzi Konway; Chicago, Illinois
Q: What is your name/stage name?
A: “I go by Rizzi Konway or just Rizzi.”
Q: Where are you from?
A: “Chicago. Specifically, the northside. I was born in Cabrini Green and raised in that general area until I was 25-26.”
Q: How long have you been making music?
A: “I’ve been messing around with instruments for about 20 years. And I started making music seriously about 7 years ago.”
Q: Who’s your biggest inspiration?
A: “My two biggest inspirations at this point in time are Ye and Lady Gaga. Peak performance art.”
Q: What genre of music do you create?
A: “Primarily Rap music. But over the last year I’ve really been trying to expand on whatever feeling comes to me.”
Q: What are some features you want to get?
A: “I would love to produce for Kid Cudi or make a song with Donald Glover. Those are two people I feel very compatible with sonically.”
Q: Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?
A: “Prince. No question. The genius that emanated from him isn’t comparable.”
Q: Are you signed to a label?
A: “No, I am not.”
Q: Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?
A: “The goal these days is to own as much of your own IP as possible but with that being said, I wouldn’t mind help from a more established entity if the paperwork is right.”
Q: Where did your name come from?
A: “So “Rizzi” is a variation on my own name and “Konway” is based on Member of The Black Panther Party’s name, Eddie Conway.”
Q: What are you currently working on?
A: “Music people can dance to. I’m done making aggressive music and sad music for now.”
Q: What is your latest release?
A: “DIGITAL|DEMON dropped June 10th 2022.”
Q: When is your next release?
A: “I’m working on it as we speak, so hopefully soon.”
