Interviewer: Teejay, congratulations on your new record “Come and Go” with Shea Davis. How did this collaboration happen?
Teejay Valentine: Appreciate that! Honestly, it came together in the most natural way. I was talking to Shea one day and told him I really felt like I’d grown as an artist. Shea being the real one he is, said, “Send me something.” Not long after, I hit the studio with my boy Boogie — we both go way back with Shea — and on the drive, we were just reminiscing about the old crew. The moment we got in the studio, the melody and words just came. The vibe was undeniable, and the rest was history.
Interviewer: What was it like working with someone like Shea Davis, who’s considered a Bronx hip-hop staple?
Teejay Valentine: Man, working with Shea was powerful. He’s from that era where hip-hop was built off respect, energy, and truth. His presence carries that authenticity — no gimmicks, just raw talent. When we linked, it felt like bridging two generations of real music. I’ve always admired how he represents the Bronx, and this record gave me the chance to connect that street legacy with my own mission to elevate the culture.
Interviewer: The record definitely feels authentic and soulful. What message were you hoping to send through “Come and Go”?
Teejay Valentine: The message is about growth and acceptance. People come and go in your life, opportunities come and go, but you’ve got to stay solid. I wanted to reflect on that — staying grounded while evolving. I’ve grown a lot as an artist and as a man, and this track captures that energy. It’s about appreciating the journey, even when things change.
Interviewer: You’re not just an artist — you’re also the CEO of The Lifted Network and Cannabis Culture Connection. How do those ventures tie into your music career?
Teejay Valentine: Everything I do connects back to community and culture. The Lifted Network is about creating platforms for artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs who are moving with purpose. It’s not just about music — it’s about building something sustainable and positive.
With Cannabis Culture Connection, it’s the same energy — we’re breaking stigma, creating conversations, and showing how cannabis and creativity go hand-in-hand. Both ventures represent freedom, authenticity, and elevation, and that’s exactly what I bring into my music.
Interviewer: You’ve built a strong brand around authenticity and elevation. What keeps you motivated?
Teejay Valentine: Purpose. I’ve always believed in moving with intention. Whether it’s music, business, or community work, I want everything I touch to uplift somebody. I’ve had to learn, fail, and grow — but every lesson added to my vision. Seeing others inspired by what we’re building at The Lifted Network keeps me going.
Interviewer: What can fans expect next from Teejay Valentine?
Teejay Valentine: More collaborations, more energy, and more growth. I’ve got some powerful records coming that blend inspiration with real-life stories. I’m also expanding The Lifted Network — connecting with new artists, brands, and creatives who want to build something meaningful. The mission is always elevation.
