What is your name?
William Gallios a.k.a. Will G
Where are you from?
Las Vegas, NV (USA)
How long have you been in the music industry?
I have been learning how to make music as an amateur since 2012.
I started out like many with a copy of fruity loops and grew
from there. My first home studio setup with my brother
included an Akai MPC 1000 and a TC-Helicon
Voiceworks Pro.
What is your biggest music accomplishment?
Today, for hip hop production, I use Propellerhead’s Reason as my
Digital Audio workstation, and it is my main tool I use for my
sequencing and mixing. For sampling, time stretching, and
slicing, I use a Native Instruments Maschine MK3.
What’s your next move?
Since the start of this year I have taken the dive into full time
working in the music industry, and by full time I mean eat, sleep
and breathe it. I’m currently in talks with a few labels that are
wanting to sign a few of my tracks, however until terms
are met, I’m currently unsigned.
What is your biggest music accomplishment?
My biggest musical accomplishment has to be with one my most recent
tracks “Yurrr”. That track has garnered quite a bit of attention
for me in the music industry, and has been featured in a few
articles. I’m hoping with this momentum, my career can be
propelled into the professional level.
What’s your next move?
Aside from creating music, it would be building my brand. Continuing
to gain followers and fans as well as promote and distribute
my music. Since releasing my first mixtape I’ve had to spend
quite a bit of time getting my tracks into the hands of
curators and record labels.
Are you working on any projects?
Currently I’m working on releasing my second mixtape. I’m also looking
for rappers who are interested in working with me to use my music
for their album.
Where do you see yourself in 1 year?
In a year’s time, I hope to have released my first commercially
produced album with an artist.
Who inspired you to make music?
What inspired me to make music is the drive to get that look, that
look when people stop what they are doing, turn their head, and
look at the stereo when they hear your song. That’s when you
know it’s good, when it stops their conversation to hear
what is playing. Seeing that moment inspires me the most.
What producers have you been working with?
Currently I haven’t had the pleasure of working with other producers
in the industry yet, however I have had the chance of working with
local artists. I do look forward to growing my presence in the
industry and look forward to working with larger artists.
Musical influences?
When it comes to hip hop production, my biggest influences have been
9th wonder, The Alchemist, MF Grimm, and Murda Beatz. However rappers,
I would definitely have to say Don Trip, Starlito,
Lil Wayne, and Kevin gates.
What age did you start making music?
I started making music when I was about 24.
What place/event do you wanna perform at?
I actually would love to have my music used at something like a sporting
event. I feel like the high, dramatic energy some of my tracks have
would be great for something like a halftime show.
Did anybody push you to make music?
I really pushed myself. We all know that feeling when you hear a song, and
for like the next week it’s your tune on repeat. I try to create that
moment with my music. The music industry is tough to say the least,
and like a lot of people I have gotten a lot of “no’s”, and every
single “yes” has pushed me to keep going.
What do you want the fans to take from your music?
Inspiration. I want fans to be inspired by my music, in whatever form that
may be in their lives. When they hear my music, I want them to want to
try harder for it, cause you can do it. When I make my music, I aim
for the top, that’s what’s going through my head and I just hope
it bleeds off.
