Q1. What’s your name?
A1. Sixteen.
Q2. Where are you from?
A2. Adamsville, Alabama.
Q3. How old are you?
A3. 26.
Q4 .When did you start making music
A4. 2011.
Q5. How serious are you about your career?
A5. I’m serious. I write mostly. It’s my outlet when I feel like I’m about to lose myself. I feel grounded when I go back and listen to a verse I just recorded and I’m satisfied with what I hear. I’ll just keep listening to it over and over again.
Q6. Have you ever thought about quitting music?
A6. Plenty of times. I thought that music as a career just wasn’t for me. But these days it’s more about the way it makes me feel to work on music than it is about it being a career. I see music as a passion. I fall more in love with everything about music everyday. I been struggling financially and emotionally for the past year now, but music and my faith in God has been the only things to keep me going. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t have those two. I could never quit now. I may take a break here and there but when I get the urge to write, I always find the time. I don’t care what’s going on.
Q7. Who inspires you the most?
A7. Lately, Teezo Touchdown. He’s so original, his music was created for people like me. I truly believe that. He doesn’t try too hard to be gangsta, he’s funny, and the overall message behind the music is always something awesome, something I can actually get behind. You can can tell that he really doesn’t care & he’s so unapologetically himself. It’s admirable & use it as motivation on the daily.
Q8.What got you into making music?
A8. Ever since a kid, I’ve had sensory issues. A lot of times I prefer to be alone so I’m not overwhelmed. It started as humming along to the radio, then one day I just found out I kinda had a nice voice. Though for years I would just sing to myself for fun, I made friends in high school that made beats & made their own music and they introduced me to the studio.
Q9.Who is your favorite producer?
A9. Metro! You can feel exactly what he meant for you to feel on every project. What’s understood don’t have to be explained. He just never disappoints, especially when he collabs with Thug.
Q10. What is one of your best songs/beats?
A10. Lyrics wise, Make It Up. I really meant those words. The song is from 2018/2019, but I really feel that way to this day. It’s about a personal journey that most people just wouldn’t understand. But I never really explain or go into details about the lyrics because the listener should be able to have their own interpretation of the lyrics, you know? But that’s my most meaningful song. I cry sometimes still when I listen to it just because I know where my heart was when I made the song.
Q11. Are you signed to a record or label?
A11. No, I’m not.
Q12. Have you ever performed?
A12. Yes actually a few times at open mic events, talent shows. It’s always exciting. It’s a rush. For some reason my social anxiety doesn’t really kick in when I’m into the music and that’s why I love it so much.
Q13. Who would you most likely collaborate with?
A13. Anyone with good vibes, I don’t discriminate.
Q14. If you could open for any artist who would it be?
A14. Frank Ocean. He got me through some really depressed times in high school, I’ll never forget it. His voice is so angelic, in my opinion. I can’t tell you how many times I felt completely numb, like there was nothing there, and I listened to ‘We All Try’ ‘There Will be Tears’ or ‘Strawberry Swing’ and the tears would just flow and I’d feel like I was really here again.
Q15. What’s next for you?
A15. Greatness. I don’t know what else to say. I deserve it. I’m working on my craft daily. Even if I’m not in the studio right now because of my situation, I know what I’m capable of when I do step foot in one.
