It seems like Eminem’s legal team is trying to prevent Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon from registering the name of their podcast, “Reasonably Shady,” because of the potential confusion with Eminem’s long-standing nickname, “Slim Shady.” According to Eminem’s lawyers, the similarity of the names could cause consumers to think that the rapper is in some way affiliated with the podcast, leading to confusion.
It’s not uncommon for companies or individuals to file trademark disputes over names or logos that are too similar to their own. In this case, it remains to be seen whether Eminem’s legal team will be successful in their bid to block the registration of “Reasonably Shady,” but it’s clear that they believe the potential for confusion is too great to ignore.
