Audia introduced her world with “Nocturne.” Now, the Brooklyn-based hip hop artist is showing listeners who else lives there. Her latest single, “Bruno” featuring Dev LahDay, brings forward the bold, unapologetic side of an artist building her identity around femininity, power and performance.
An actress, producer and storyteller, Audia approaches her releases as connected pieces of a larger creative vision. That vision has a name, Nocturne City, and each song offers a different perspective on the woman creating it. With “Bruno,” she turns the attention toward Her, the dominant expression of her personality.
Audia identifies three expressions within her artistry: Grace, Voice and Her. Grace is soft and whimsical. Voice reflects her spirituality. Her carries the confidence and authority. She describes them as different parts of herself, each taking the lead when she has something particular to say.
“Bruno” gives Her that space. Featuring Dev LahDay, the release places Audia’s more assertive energy at the centre of her latest chapter. Following the introduction of “Nocturne,” it begins to reveal how the different sides of her identity will shape the music ahead.
That sense of character comes naturally to an artist with a background in acting, theatre and live performance. Audia often imagines an entire world before a song is complete, thinking about its atmosphere and the feeling it leaves behind. Her performance experience gives her a way to carry those ideas beyond the lyrics, using presence and expression to tell the story.
Her relationship with communication also has deeply personal roots. As a CODA, a child of Deaf adults, Audia developed an early awareness of how people express themselves and make themselves understood. That upbringing informs the attention she brings to her writing, performances and creative decisions around sound.
Even her name connects to that curiosity. Drawn from Claudia, Audia represents her imagining of sound taking a feminine form. It is an idea that ties together the music and the woman behind it, giving her room to explore softness, mystery and authority within the same artistic identity.
Her debut single, “Nocturne,” established the foundation. With its cold, industrial textures and futuristic trap direction, the record introduced Nocturne City as a place of possibility. For Audia, its darkness represents openness and creation, a space where something new can begin.
“Bruno” moves that story forward by bringing one part of her personality into sharper focus. It also sits within a wider range of music: “Lock It Down” embodies the softness of Grace, while the forthcoming “On God” will explore the spiritual perspective of Voice.
Audia is currently working on her debut EP, expected in early 2027. As that project develops, these releases are giving listeners a clearer picture of her ambitions and the different energies she wants to explore.
With “Bruno” featuring Dev LahDay out now, Her has the floor.
