1. What’s your name?
HiiTay
2. Where are you from?
Born in Madison,WI raised between there and Chicago but I’m currently living in Missoula, MT
3. How old are you?
31 March 29th
4 .When did you start making music
Since I was 5 years old, I’ve been classically trained in piano, taught myself guitar and drums, played in classical orchestra, jazz, blues, gospel, and rock bands.
5. How serious are you about your career?
I’ve been doing this not as a hobby but a business I’ve been independently learning and decoding for 6 years now. Thousands of dollars have been spent on seminars, equipment, management, marketing, travel and so much more. With the time I’ve spent on this, serious is an understatement.
6. Have you ever thought about quitting music?
I struggle with depression, so dealing with scams, false hope, even just hearing those that I’ve worked with in the industry saying that my music is amazing but still not being where I want to be in this field does discourage me. However, despite these feelings I’ve invested too much time, energy and money to even fathom quitting without taking what I feel is mine.
7. Who inspires you the most?
In music, I’d have to say Kid Cudi, Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert. I like the alternative sounds of hiphop and these three to me are the pinnacle of such. Being a person whom has been in so many genres within music I tend to blend aspects and that’s something that was first shown to be in blueprint by Kid Cudi.
8.What got you into making music?
Was placed in piano lessons at a young age, so music has always been an interest for me personally. My grandmother and uncle were the ones whom pushed me to pursue it and when they passed they always wanted me to carry that passion forward and see it through.
9.Who is your favorite producer?
Metro booming or F1lthy for sure.
10. What is one of your best songs/beats?
Personally love my song Can’t Get Like This I smoke to it every morning no joke.
11. Are you signed to a record or label?
Nah independent
12. Have you ever performed?
Yes I’ve performed all over the US from Montana, Idaho, Spokane, Dallas, Connecticut, and soon performing in New York in July.
13. Who would you most likely collaborate with?
If I had the opportunity, I’d want to work with Uzi, Carti, The Weeknd, Drake, Kid Cudi, or J Cole. They are all people whom I’ve respected and helped mold my sound selection through my own art.
14. If you could open for any artist who would it be?
Carti.
15. What’s next for you?
Working on a new sound currently with my producers, something unique I want to bring to the table. I’m going to be pushing my twitch streaming channel soon after I fix my laptop, wanting to connect more deeply with my fan base there.
