Cardi B is already looking ahead to her next chapter. The Bronx superstar has confirmed that her third studio album is expected to arrive in 2027, giving fans a new project to anticipate just months after the release of her sophomore album.
Cardi revealed the news during a conversation with The Breakfast Club at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on September 18. While speaking with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy, she explained that she plans to step away from the distractions of everyday life and dedicate herself to recording after her birthday in November.
The rapper was also asked how far along she is with the upcoming project. Cardi admitted that the album is still in its early stages, revealing that she currently has around two songs completed. Despite having plenty of work ahead of her, she insisted that fans will not have to endure another lengthy wait for a new studio album.
That promise is significant considering the extended gap between Cardi’s debut and sophomore releases. Her 2018 breakthrough album, Invasion of Privacy, was followed by Am I the Drama? in 2025, creating a lengthy stretch between full-length projects.
This time around, Cardi says a renewed sense of confidence has changed her approach. She explained that she feels ready to return to the studio and suggested that her current mindset is helping push the creative process forward.
Cardi has remained active musically in 2026. She released “AH HA” in July and also appeared on the posthumous Nipsey Hussle project PROLIFIC, created in collaboration with Bino Rideaux. Those releases have kept her name in the conversation while she prepares for the next phase of her career.
For now, there is no official title or release date for the upcoming album, and Cardi still has plenty of recording to complete. But with the rapper promising that the project is coming next year, fans now have an early look at what could become her next major era.
If Cardi sticks to her plan, 2027 could bring another full-length chapter from one of hip-hop’s most recognizable voices.
