Top Dog Strakes’ Legacy Lives On with Posthumous Album Case Dismissed

The first posthumous album from Trinidad artist Top Dog Strakes (TDS), created as a tribute to his life, legacy, and dedication to music. The project features songs originally recorded between 2014 and 2019, capturing different stages of his artistic growth and preserving the authentic sound and vision he developed throughout those years.
Originally intended to be released as a mixtape, the project was later elevated to an official album as a way of paying proper respect to Top Dog Strakes’ legacy, body of work, and the impact he left on those around him. The album serves not only as a collection of music but also as a reflection of his journey, ambitions, and personal transformation.

The original concept behind the project centered on a powerful storyline: Top Dog Strakes returning from prison, leaving crime behind, and redirecting his energy toward building a better future through music. It was a story of growth, redemption, determination, and chasing a dream despite the obstacles life placed in his path.

In the months leading up to his passing, Top Dog Strakes displayed an incredible work ethic and commitment to his craft. Friends and collaborators recall him spending countless hours in the studio, sometimes recording two songs in a single day, driven by a passion to perfect his sound and establish his place in the music industry.

Today, CASE DISMISSED stands as a celebration of that dedication. The album preserves the voice, vision, and creativity of Top Dog Strakes while allowing fans, old and new, to experience the music he worked so hard to create. More than just an album, it is a lasting tribute to a talented artist whose story continues to inspire through every track.
