Q.) What is your name / stage name?
Cas du Pree
Q.) Where are you from?
The Netherlands
Q.) What do you do?
I work in software support as a day job!
Q.) How long have you been making music?
I started creating music in 2019 and released my first single in 2020.
Q.) What was your first song/project?
My first single was called: A Better Me. A song about rejection of the past that was holding me back because of insecurities. I decided to let that all go because music makes me a better me.
Q.) Who’s your inspiration?
I have different inspirations. But Sam Smith, JP Cooper and Ed Sheeran are probably recent!
Q.) What genre of music do you create?
I create pop ballads with a wink to other genres. Some songs have folk, rock or even jazz in them. But pop is the overall theme.
Q.) What are some features you have?
I have no features yet! I will be releasing some soon. One with an amazing singer that sang backings on my album. Although it’s “just” a coversong, I can’t wait to properly introduce her.
Q.) Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?
Adele looks fun. But Sia is brilliant, so is Lin Manuel Miranda. So I guess I would choose one of the last 2 to soak up knowledge and pick a piece of thei brain!
Q.) Are you signed to a label?
I am not. Totally indie! Although my records have a label attached… the label is just me. Doing everything with no-one else in my roster.
Q.) Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?
If someone thinks we are a good fit and it seems we both can benefit, why not?
Q.) Who are your biggest supporters?
I think my husband and my close friends. Also my biggest fans. I love hearing their feedback on new tracks and giving them sneak previews!
Q.) Do you write your own material?
I write a lot myself. But since I am not a native English man I do get help. My friend Arron Storey Co wrote my album with me.
Q.) Do you create your own music video concepts?
I do create my own concepts. Also my own artwork and whenever possible also my own pictures. I love staying on top and learning every step on the way!
Q.) What’s your favorite music to listen to?
I listen tot pop myself. That could be Celine Dion, but also Rammstein. I just love music. But mainstream is my go-to.
Q.) What are you currently working on?
I am currently working an a co written song with Helen Counts. She is amazing! Her voice actually reminds me of Eva Cassidy and I believe we will have a great contrast. Also I am working on some other songs at the moment. I am not sure if this will be a single or 2, or perhaps an EP or even album.
Q.) What is your latest release?
My latest release was my debut album: Getting To Know Me. An album full of personal songs with difficult topics such as losing my sister Kelly.
Q.) When is your next release?
My next release is already at the master engineer and will be a coversong. My original next release is expected right before summer..
Q.) Where is one place you want to travel to perform?
I would live to perform in London one day. Especially the Royal Albert Hall or an intimate population session in the tube.
Q.) What’s the biggest crowd that you have performed for?
My biggest crowd was about a 1000 people so far.
Q.) Who’s someone you can see yourself on tour with?
JP Cooper!! But he’s too famous for me. I love artists with something different in their voices with pop songs.
Q.) Who produces your music?
Frans Rinsma and Arron Storey.
Q.) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I will hopefully released another album! Getting some more stage presence would be nice to have too. You never know when people want to see you live again.
