His music experience and passion has led him into the entertainment industry where he has worked with artists like Axxi. While his main focus is hip-hop and rap, he has a few tips to share with musicians from all genres on how to build their careers.
- Move out of your comfort zone
A successful musician is one who is diverse and adaptable. While it’s tempting to just go with what you know, it is even better to branch out and learn from other people, genres, and experiences. Arut states that outside comfort zones, musicians can learn new techniques on how to play or sing better. It also presents challenges that will build you as you work your way through each of them. Arut emphasizes that moving out of your comfort zone doesn’t however mean abandoning what you know.

We’re living in a golden digital age where you can find anything you need online. According to Arut, it is extremely easy to learn how to become a great musician and improve your skills online. Despite this having given a rise to so many new artists and making competition tougher, it still gives musicians who take advantage of these resources a much-needed edge.
- Your passion for music must be greater than anything
A career in music will throw you curveballs at every turn, so your passion for music needs to be greater than any challenge thrown your way. It is important that you are guided by your passion and not monetary success. Arut hopes that every musician remembers that a successful career is gradual and not instant. The journey towards success will not be easy.
- Define your meaning of success very clearly
The meaning of success varies from person to person. To some, it is making money, for others it’s winning awards, completing an album, becoming famous, and so on. You need to clearly define what success means to you, define what you’re chasing.
- Find ways to always be informed
The music industry is a scene where trends change within minutes and you cannot afford to be stuck in a trend that is long gone. People want what’s happening now and next, not what happened before. You should therefore be up to date on what’s happening in the industry at all times.
Ultimately, your music speaks for you and it is important to speak through your music. Music is a universal language that connects us all and your music can reach every corner of the planet.
