billy woods continues the rollout for his upcoming album GOLLIWOG with the dense and layered “BLK ZMBY,” a new single produced by longtime collaborator Steel Tipped Dove. It follows the already compelling “Misery,” keeping the anticipation high for what will be the veteran rapper’s 13th solo LP.
Set to arrive on May 9, GOLLIWOG looks to be a sprawling and ambitious project. As always, woods brings sharp concept work and lyrical weight, this time backed by a diverse lineup of underground heavyweights. Producers like Conductor Williams, The Alchemist, DJ Haram, and Steel Tipped Dove are all on board, promising a sonically rich experience. Feature-wise, he’s tapping trusted voices like E L U C I D, Bruiser Wolf, and Kenny Segal, among others.
“BLK ZMBY” adds another layer to the world woods is constructing—abstract, thought-provoking, and rooted in sharp social commentary. The full picture will unfold in May, but for now, this is yet another strong entry in what’s shaping up to be one of 2024’s most anticipated underground rap releases.
