Dame Dash, co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, has been cleared of sexual assault charges in a lawsuit from 2019, but has been ordered to pay the plaintiff $30,000 due to a concurrent defamation lawsuit. The plaintiff, Monique Bunn, alleged that Dash touched her inappropriately during an overnight stay at his residence to complete a video shoot. Dash responded to the accusations on social media, claiming that Bunn financially took advantage of him by committing credit card fraud. As a result, Bunn added the defamation of character complaint to the suit. After a four-day trial, a jury ruled that Dash did not sexually assault Bunn, but she was awarded $30K for the defamation of character, which can only be overturned by a federal appeals court.
