DIJA, a multifaceted artist and creator, is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Born and raised in Anaheim, California, but now based in Columbia, South Carolina, DIJA’s journey has taken him across both the East and West coasts, where his creative endeavors have blossomed into something much bigger than himself. Over the past 15 years, DIJA has evolved into a true DIY artist — a singer, songwriter, producer, and filmmaker all rolled into one.
His first taste of the spotlight came when he was part of the group History in the Making, which was signed to RCA Records. Though the group parted ways after its 2015 release, DIJA continued his solo career, carving a unique lane in the music world. His ability to seamlessly blend genres like pop, R&B, hip-hop, and world music has gained him a diverse following.
When asked about his influences, DIJA mentions icons like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, Jay Z, and Justin Timberlake — artists whose music has shaped him both as a musician and as an individual. But beyond music, DIJA’s love for film also shines through. He cites legendary directors like Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer as inspirations that have shaped his creative vision.
Though he has worked with major artists like Justin Bieber, Jason Derulo, and Jacob Latimore, DIJA remains independent and continues to push forward with his own label, Popular World Ent. “It’s all about freedom for me,” he explains. “Being able to create without boundaries is the key to my art.”
Currently, DIJA is preparing for a series of major releases. His latest project, the pREquel, dropped on January 1st, 2025, and fans can look forward to two more projects in quick succession: RE- (releasing on January 11th) and DIJA (dropping on February 14th). These albums are not only a culmination of his hard work, but a way to lay the groundwork for the grand reveal of his future endeavors.
When it comes to performing, DIJA has already graced large stages, including a memorable 2,000-person crowd during the High School Nations Tour in Austin, Texas. But his dreams don’t stop there. He envisions himself performing at major music festivals, with his hometown of Anaheim being at the top of his list. And in the future? He’s not just looking to make music; DIJA wants to shift cultures, create films, and collaborate with some of the world’s biggest artists.
As he continues to grow as an artist, DIJA is determined to build a legacy — one where his creativity doesn’t just entertain, but sparks change. Be sure to follow him on his journey and catch the magic that is DIJA on all platforms.
