Drake and PartyNextDoor have officially dropped their long-awaited joint album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, hitting streaming platforms on Friday (Feb. 14). The 21-track project brings their signature smooth sound to fans just in time for Valentine’s Day.
On “Gimme a Hug,” Drake seems to reflect on past feuds, rapping:
“Drake elimination, fake intimidation/Take a minute, take a deep breath, have a little bit of patience.”
Later, he appears to take a shot at Joe Budden:
“Melyssa Ford, you a legend from The 6 hate to see you with a d**k sucker.”
The album was first hinted at last August during PartyNextDoor’s tour stop in Toronto, where Drake teased fans about its arrival. He doubled down in October and December, building anticipation before confirming the February 14 release date earlier this month.
The cover art, featuring Mississauga’s Absolute World towers, was revealed just days before the album’s debut. The duo also previewed “Crying in Chanel” leading up to the release.
This is Drake’s first major project since last year’s rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. PartyNextDoor last dropped P4 in April 2023.
