In a touching display of maternal concern, Pattie Mallette, mother of pop superstar Justin Bieber, recently took to social media to pray for her son’s healing. Her message, posted on September 22, was deeply emotional, calling for “freedom, strength, clarity, and healing” over Justin’s life.
“Holy Spirit, surround him with TRUTH, LIGHT, and PROTECTION,” she wrote alongside black-and-white photos of Justin, asking for every wound in his “heart, mind, and body” to be restored.
Fans were moved by her faith-filled words, especially after weeks of speculation about Justin’s emotional state following his cryptic social media posts. Yet, when the “Sorry” hitmaker finally responded—two weeks later—it wasn’t with the tearful reflection many expected.
“The only thing I need healing from is my rolled pinky toe from playing ping pong,” Justin quipped, showing his trademark humor.
While some took the response as dismissive, others saw it as Justin’s lighthearted way of easing concern and showing that he’s doing fine. Recently, Bieber has been busy—releasing his latest album Swag II on September 5, celebrating his seventh wedding anniversary with Hailey Bieber, and marking their son Jack Blues’ first birthday.
For Pattie, faith remains at the center of her relationship with her son. For Justin, laughter may be his own form of healing.
