Interview with Detroit’s Own K-DuBBs

What’s your full name, age and where are you from?      

Kenneth Nkruma Ward (K-DuBBs), I am 24 years young, I was born & raised in Detroit, Michigan. i moved to Louisville, Kentucky and have been here for almost 6 years

 What do you do for a living and Who are you biggest influences?      

My time spent in Louisville I’ve carried numerous jobs & have had different ways of making money. In order to sustain a decent living, I’ve had to grow up fast and really figure things out on my own. At the same time before knowing how start my music career, i felt this drive in my soul to do whatever it takes to make it happen. I moved to louisville when i was 19 years young not having not 1 family or friend in the city.

What are some of your biggest accomplishments thus far in your life?   

Some of my biggest accomplishments is to be able to still be alive & healthy around people who i know has my back and wants the best for me just as much as i want for them! Being able to still be healthy after we just went through a pandemic do to Covid-19. Being able to see my growth in my music has been a my biggest accomplishment! I gain a lot of inspiration knowing that im getting better at my craft, it assures me that im on the right path. Im at a point in my life now where i am able to Inspire other people to do whatever it is they want to do. 

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?   

Within the next 5 years i see myself building great relationships with people who want/have similar goals such as myself. i want to have my foundation established with my Career so that i can start building towards my Kingdom. I want to be at on the  build board top-100 charts and have multiple platinum record streaming. I see myself with at least two different businesses established and running. I see myself as a huge influencer/artist a lot of people gravitate towards. because of the type of energy i carry i stick to people in ways ill be memorable too them.

What legacy do you want to leave behind?  

The legacy i want to leave behind is the world being able to listen and relate to the type of music i create! i want to inspire people from all across the globe and touch peoples souls with what i have to offer. I want to build and establish my kingdom, so my family can carry on generational wealth! i want to show people that its okay to allow people to tell you you’re different without having to say it. its okay to be yourself and to separate yourself every once & awhile. ITS OKAY TO BE YOU 

Name one artist you dream of working with (dead or alive) ?

If i had to choose between two Artist to work with, it would be Travis Scott or The Weekend. I like the type of Artist they are and how they aren’t really caught up in social media drama or unnecessary conflicts. I love how the both of them move in the industry.

When did you decide on pursing music?

I’ve started to take my music journey seriously once i moved to Louisville, Kentucky! I really developed as an Artist from the ground up living here in the city! i started off homeless luckily with a job set up when i arrived. Really having to figure everything out from scratch contributed to the type of my man I’ve become to this day. Really starting was a struggle but i knew exactly what i wanted to do. The simple fact that started taking it a step time and meeting goals continuously gave me motivation to keep going!

Are you currently working on any projects?

There is never a time im not working on something! I did recently dropped my first body of work, my (Ep) “Lust4Life” Streaming Via Soundcloud/Youtube  Lust4Life by K-DuBBs Please give it a listen!!! Like & Repost.

What is your writing process when creating music?

My Writing process consist of listening to the beat literally over & over again. i usually start off writing the hook/Chorus, thats what come faster on the pad, then i break it down with the verse. i might section the first off depending on if i have different parts of the first verse. that also depends on how i go in with my flows! I don”t write unless the beat touches my soul. i have to really feel it inside of me, its like it’ll give me chills knowing that i could be super creative on a beat thats really hitting my ears. i am able to write on my phone & or on notepad but with my phone i color coordinate my flows and words.

What can we expect from you in 2021? Are you planning on pursuing anything other than music?

For all of 2021 you can expect more visuals to match up with my (Ep) “Lust4Life” i dropped on March15th 2021. I will soon be releasing my Single “LANDED II” with my Major Distribution team @adjacentagent power by @TheOrchard.
