What inspires you to do music?
My life experiences inspire my creativity and it’s just a gift that I want to share with the world.
Who are your influencers? Jay z and Beyonce, growing up they were so dope to me and their work ethic is impeccable and that influences how I work.
Is that why your new single “You Must Not Know” features a Beyonce sample?
Yes and no and the reason why I say that is because Young Brooklyn, well if you don’t know him, he is a dope upcoming rapper, his lawyer’s son makes beats by the name “ElvisBeats”. He heard the beat from Elvis and was like yo this drill beat with Beyonce sample is crazy you have to body this. Once I heard it, I loved it because it was Beyonce of course and recorded it the next day.
Your approach was very bossy and confident on your new single, what influenced that style?
It’s just me, honestly, I never know my approach to a song until I’m in the booth. It’s all about a subconscious vibe that I be on that allows my thoughts to flow and be creative while making music.
So, you create your lyrics when you go in the recording booth, that’s impressive considering that is a Jay Z thing, has he also influenced your recording process?
Well, that’s how I found that I can rap was by freestyling with my friends and my bro Dee-Nice told me it’s something I should take seriously and after he passed away music became more personal. However, I did run around the hood saying I was the female Jay because of that skill. (Laughs)
I know you’re from Brooklyn, New York, how was it like growing up in Brooklyn?
Brooklyn is dope, I love my hood, but I hate the violence that comes with it. The different people, the culture, the experiences, the bad, the ugly because it could get real spooky in a New York minute. However, New York is overall a beautiful city. We don’t sleep out here.
I like your style, it gives New York, and your single is fire by the way!
Thank you
What can we expect from you in the future?
More music, my project will be dropping top of year, I wanted to drop before 2021 was up but we got bigger things in store so its worth the wait. However, I will be performing and dropping more visuals that I wrote great treatments for, so the future is going to be productive.
