In Kansas City, you have Tech N9ne and Strange Music; in Minnesota, you have Prof; in Illinois you have a huge range of Chicago rappers from Chief Keef to the late King Von, but who would have thought that between all that, you’d see an artist breaking away from the cornfields of Iowa and shaking up the global stage?
Enter Des Moines rapper and pop artist, Highrise. Since his arrival on the scene, this accomplished pretty boy has worked hard for his accolades alongside the infamous super producer, LX Xander. Finding himself on tracks with major artists and indie legends alike, including Royce da 5’9″, Snoop Dogg, Baby Goth, Hopsin, and Hi-Rez, it’s easy to see how Highrise might soon be putting his home state on the map for hip hop.
But big names aside, it’s hard to doubt this man’s grind. Amidst this year’s pandemic, with many artists quieting down, Highrise has remained incredibly prolific. Starting his own IGTV series, “Monday’s Raw and Uncut” (#MRU), he supplies his followers with new music Every. Week. See for yourself @highrisenation.
We don’t know what the future holds for this Midwest artist, but it’s sure to be bright! Stay tuned.
