Russ Explores New Territory with “Drives”

Russ, the dynamic rapper and singer from Georgia, is surprising fans once again with his latest single, “Drives.” At just 31 years old, Russ is already building one of the most extensive catalogs in the music industry. Known for his versatility, he switches gears from his previous December release, “Said It Freestyle,” opting for a singer-songwriter approach in “Drives.”

In this track, Russ delves into the complexities of a strained relationship, capturing the struggles of both individuals dealing with personal issues. Unlike his more traditional rap style in the previous single, “Drives” showcases Russ’s high-pitched vocals in the chorus, adding a unique twist to his repertoire. However, opinions on the track’s success vary, with some finding the vocals not quite hitting the mark.

As a producer, Russ maintains his creative control, crafting a sound that might be considered plain jane by some. Despite the mixed reviews, Russ invites his audience to share their thoughts on whether “Drives” will be his standout single of the year. Fans are encouraged to express their preferences, pondering whether this departure from his usual style resonates with them.
