Meet Justin Storm, a determined force in the hip-hop world whose roots run deep in the local music scene. As a booking agent, he is shaping the future of rising artists while continuing to stay connected to his roots through live performances and collaborations.
Born and raised in the United States, Justin Marie has always had a passion for music—one that runs in the family. “My dad is the reason I got into music,” he says. Growing up with a father who has been involved in music since Justin’s childhood, the dream to pursue a career in this industry was practically inevitable. “He’s always been a huge inspiration,” Justin explains, fueling his desire to support local talent and create his own name in the business.
As an artist and booking agent, Justin’s style is uniquely his own. “I would describe my style as one that supports the local community,” he shares. While he doesn’t consider himself a traditional musician, his role behind the scenes is integral to the success of many artists. “I’ve booked a lot of local artists, helping them secure shows and grow their audiences,” Justin proudly notes.
He recognizes the importance of collaboration, often working alongside other producers and musicians to create opportunities for both established and emerging talents. One of his key collaborations has been with Dropik, a fellow artist he’s worked closely with, and who has also played a role in introducing Justin to new opportunities. “I’m grateful for working with people like Dropik who help elevate the scene,” Justin says.
However, his path hasn’t been without its challenges. “Booking shows can be tough, and sometimes it’s hard to secure a slot,” he admits. But even through obstacles, his motivation remains steadfast. “The drive to succeed in music comes from my father’s influence. I keep pushing because I want to make him proud,” he explains.
Though he doesn’t currently have a single to promote, Justin is actively engaging with his audience, building his fan base through social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. “Engagement with fans is key, and it’s important to connect with them on a personal level,” he notes. These interactions play a vital role in his journey and his ability to stay grounded in the community he serves.
Though Justin Storm isn’t actively pursuing a distribution deal right now, he’s carving out a niche for himself and his collaborators. His story is just beginning, and there’s no doubt that his role as both an artist and a booking agent will continue to shape the future of the local music scene.
