A lot of people have pools in West Palm Beach, Florida, so YKabes is never short of work as a pool boy – but now following in the footsteps of other artists from his area like Wifisfuneral, he’s breaking out into the music industry.
“Since my father needed heart surgery, I have had to take over the business with my brother, and we’re both cleaning 90 pools each a week.” YKabes tells us. “I played numerous brass instruments throughout grade school and achieved enormous success, recognized as one of the best players and leaders in the state. I listen to pretty much every genre – rap, rock and roll, country, pop, jazz, even classical.”
He’s now collaborating with renowned producer LX Xander on a single, which is due to be released soon.
