50 Cent Fires Back at Rick Ross After G-Unit Reebok Sneakers Sell Out

50 Cent is once again using social media to remind his longtime rival Rick Ross that he still knows how to make noise. This time, the rapper celebrated the successful return of the G-Unit x Reebok G6 sneakers while taking another playful shot at Ross.

The G6 officially returned this week, more than two decades after its original debut, and reportedly sold out within just two hours. 50 Cent highlighted the achievement in a video posted to Instagram, where he was seen wearing the sneakers while smoking a cigar.

The moment also doubled as an opportunity for 50 to revisit some of his recent hip-hop controversies. The video’s audio featured clips from his appearance on Apple Music’s Rap Life Review with Ebro Darden and Nadeska Alexis, where 50 discussed the differences between New York and Southern hip-hop.

50 and Ebro have recently gone back and forth over the state of New York rap. 50 has criticized Ebro’s influence and support of New York artists, while Ebro has argued that the G-Unit boss contributed to divisions within the city’s hip-hop community.

After revisiting the Ebro debate, 50 turned his attention to Ross. The Maybach Music Group boss had previously questioned whether 50’s G-Unit sneaker comeback would actually succeed. With the shoes now sold out, 50 appeared eager to have the last laugh.

“Sold out, fat boy,” 50 said while showing off the sneakers before laughing.

The sneaker’s performance appears to have given 50 plenty of reason to celebrate. Speaking with Footwear News, he emphasized that the collaboration was more than simply attaching his name to an existing product. According to 50, he was involved in the design, marketing, and presentation of the G6, making the comeback feel authentic to the G-Unit brand.

The success adds another chapter to the ongoing back-and-forth between 50 Cent and Rick Ross, two rappers who have maintained one of hip-hop’s more recognizable rivalries for years. For 50, however, the latest sneaker numbers provide another reason to talk his talk—and he clearly isn’t wasting the opportunity.
