Seattle is rewriting its music legacy—and it’s not waiting for the industry to catch up. At the front of this takeover is none other than MariBased1, the city’s rising force who’s turning independent hustle into national momentum. Alongside heavy hitters like JWavy and Stakk Wittz, MariBased1 is pushing boundaries and showing the world that Seattle Music Is Real—not just a slogan, but a certified movement.
Fresh off the release of his EP Mariotto, MariBased1’s single “48 Ratchet” ft. Beat King is tearing through the charts. The track hit #9 on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Top 40, cracked the Top 200 at #87, and even hit #1 on Amazon’s Best Seller Hip-Hop chart. That kind of heat can’t be ignored—and it’s all coming from an artist still deeply rooted in his city.
“This record grew legs of its own,” MariBased1 said. “Good music never dies. RIP to Beat King.” For an artist out of Seattle, these moments aren’t just wins—they’re validation. “It’s a great feeling to be honored for my work. Coming from where I’m from, this means everything.”
MariBased1 is also stepping beyond Seattle. He’s set to perform live in Los Angeles during BET Weekend on the New Energy Stage, and he’ll be heading to Anchorage, Alaska, alongside Lady Nate for the “Take Over Alaska” event. Fans across the map can also catch him virtually inside the Mariotto-Verse on the “Seattle Music Is Real Showcase 6” series, streaming live every last Saturday from March to August via Lems Bookstore.
Meanwhile, fellow Seattle stars JWavy and Stakk Wittz are reinforcing the wave. JWavy’s “Love Me” ft. MariBased1 landed her on BET Jams, while her solo cut “Broke Boi” is buzzing throughout Texas. Her album WAVESZN is helping to redefine Seattle’s sound—balancing melody, truth, and versatility.
Stakk Wittz is rising with his debut SEASTAKKS and standout track “STAKK TALK” featuring MariBased1. Representing the Stakk Team legacy, he’s not just releasing music—he’s carrying a message, honoring the memory of his late friend JuiceTheGod.
This isn’t a fluke or a regional burst—it’s a full-on takeover. Seattle has arrived, and MariBased1 is steering the ship with a message that’s loud and clear: this ain’t a game—it’s a movement.
