What is your name/stage name?
“My name is Manneto! Not Magneto yo!
Funny story: I was once introduced by the host of a Talent show as Magneto.
It was an interesting night.”
Where are you from?
“I am from Belgium, Zambia and Mozambique.
I was raised in Ghana from the age of 3 to the age of 15.”
What do you do?
“I am a Singer-Songwriter as well as a producer. I do play some guitar and Piano.
I’ve got to get on that.”
How long have you been making music?
“I’ve been in love with music since I was kid. I come from a family of Musicians back in Zambia. I began to take my career in music seriously about four years ago.”
Who’s your biggest inspiration?
“I will definitely go with Michael Jackson!
When I was a kid – my mother used to sit me down on her bed and have me listen to all her old school albums.
From the Temptations to the Jackson 5 and then from Ottis Redding to all the way too Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson has this one quote when he was interviewed as kid, and the quote went something like this…,
‘If I don’t feel it, I won’t sing it, I will only sing it if I feel it.’ This sentence has stayed with me for years!”
What genre of music do you create?
“It honestly depends on my mood in the moment. I have made Alternative Rnb, Indie pop, Trap rnbm Electronic Rnb and
the List will go on.”
What are some features you have?
I have two songs on my yet to be released EP with two dope rappers from my hometown.
What are some features you want to get?
“Chris Brown, NLE Choppa, Labrinth, Frank Ocean, Normani.”
Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?
“Labrinth.”
Are you signed to a label?
“Still Independent.”
Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?
“I have a distribution deal. I am interested in a record deal although it will have to be the right deal.”
Who are your biggest supporters?
“My family.”
Where did your name come from?
“Manneto is a Mozambican name given to me by my Grandfather. It means ‘Steel that cannot be broken”. Manneto was also the name of my grandad’s brother who was an artist himself! I am always honored by this name for it gives me a whole lot of strength.”
What are you currently working on?
“I am currently working on a EP of 7 songs Aswell as A collaborative EP of 4 with an amazing artist.”
What is your latest release?
“My latest release is Mama said! You can check out the Music Video in the link below! It keeps getting more and more traction every day. Tell me what you think?”
