Q.) What is your name/stage name?

A.) “My name is Ogwuegbu Kenneth Ogochukwu, I go by the stage name Kenny O”.

Q.) Where are you from?

A.) “I’m from the South Eastern part of Nigeria, Africa”.

Q.) What do you do?

A.) “I’m a rapper, songwriter and an upcoming music producer”.

Q.) How long have you been making music?

A.) “I started doing music in 2013 when I was in high school but I didn’t take it serious not until 2020 during the COVID 19 outbreak. The lockdown had a positive effect on me, it made me realize more of my potential. So I started writing and I recorded my first song in 2020”.

Q.) Who’s your biggest inspiration?

A.) “I think my biggest inspiration is the late Michael Jackson. I reminisce as a kid, I was obsessed with his songs, his dancing style and i did mimick him. Whenever I watch him on TV, I admire the crowd that always come to watch him perform, this always make me wonder and ponder what actually makes this guy special, I want to feel like that too”.

Q.) What genre of music do you create?

A.) “I make Hip-hop and I’m also versatile on other genre like Afrobeat”.

Q.) What was it like working with (collabs?)

A.) “It was amazing, especially when I got my first International collaboration.There was networking, socially. I learnt new things. The best part was that it created a wider range of audience compared to when i work alone and I wish to have more in the nearest future”.

A.) “I have patience, I’m humble, I’m a leader, and I have the ability to teach”.

Q.) What are some features you want to get?

A.) “I want to learn how to sing, just like Burna boy”.

Q.) Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?

A.) “The first person that always come to my mind is J.Cole. I respect him a lot and it will be a dream come true if I get to work with him someday”.

A.) “No I’m not”.

Q.) Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?

A.) “To be honest I will accept any, whichever comes my way. I believe some artists are looking for such opportunity”.

Q.) Who are your biggest supporters?

A.) “First my mom and siblings, and some friends”.

Q.) Where did your name come from?

A.) “Kenny O is a diminutive form of Kenneth and the initial from either my last or surname. It was my hostel mates back in college that first called me by the name”.

A.) “Currently, I’m working on an EP which I’m planning on dropping next year 2023”.

A.) “My latest release is “IF I QUIT I LOSE”. A song I did with my friend “THE LEFT EYE”.
