Exclusive Interview With 34Jay

Where are you from? Memphis

When did you start making music? I’ve been recording music since 2019, I bounced from studio to studio a lot. Tracknation Studios, founded by Memphistrackboy, is like my second home right now.

Who inspires you the most? The voice inside my head, I wouldn’t consider putting action behind half the ideas it creates but a lot of my material and inspiration comes either from spontaneous or deliberate creative thought.

What got you into making music? My grandmother I believe, I was a choirboy in elementary school. Singing, drums, pianos, tambourines, shouting, etc. I feel like growing up in church for the first phase of my life kind of indirectly steered me down this path.

Who is your favorite producer? Bezel The Producer aka Polonis aka Polo34

What is one of your best songs/beats? I’d have to give best song by me award to 34 Freestyle Pt.1, but best beat would be Ice God no contest.

Are you signed to a record or label? I am involved in multiple talks with different executives and A&Rs.

Who would you most likely collaborate with? Lil Bibby

Who are some artists that you have done shows with? None

What’s next for you? I can’t say for sure, but I’m just hoping that the next thing for me reveals my destiny.

What is your most popular track? Sonic and Ice God both been going crazy lately. Almost 10k views combined.

What are some things you have been through in real life? I can’t speak on anything incriminating, but to anyone asking themselves how they can relate to me, I’m no different from the regular person you see in your community walmart or shopping mall. I was kicked at 16, I spent 4 years living in a shotgun style duplex and 7 months sleeping in a garage. I did 2 years in the army, and I’ve been in the streets my entire life. I’ve been shot at, stabbed, jumped, carjacked, robbed, kidnapped, and extorted. I shouldn’t even be here right now, but I am.

What’s your biggest accomplishment? Graduating High school.
