Q.) What is your name/stage name?

A.) “My friends call me Gio. But anyone that knows me from music or social media just call me by my artist name ‘ King Cozee ’. I’m a 23 year old musician, actor, & model from Flint, Michigan.”

Q.) What is the meaning behind your name?

A.) “It’s a long explanation that I’ll have to save for a future interview.”

Q.) What are your roles within the music industry?

A.) “As of right now, I’m just an artist.”

Q.) What got you into music?

A.) “Honestly, I’ve been writing music since I was a kid. I always had a “rap journal” I’d put stuff in, but I never kept any of them. In high school I started playing around with it with some friends, but I didn’t take it as serious because I was focused on making YouTube videos at the time. Fast forward to my freshman year of college, I’m depressed as fuck at home, so I used it as an creative emotional outlet. Now, here we are.”

Q.) What type of music do you make?

A.) “Shit, I’ve been really tryna diversify my music. I listen to all types so I try to show it in my own music. The best way to describe what I make is, rap/hip-hop music with heavy influences from rock, hyperpop, alternative, indie, pop, & etc.”

Q.) How long have you been making music?

A.) “I started taking it serious about 2019 or 2020. 2021 is when I really locked in though.”

Q.) What are you making music for?

A.) “Myself & anyone else who can relate. As selfish as it sounds, I’m not making music to appease to anyone else. I’m making what I’d want to hear on the radio. & I’m making music to help relieve my own anxiety, depression, & anger. If anyone can relate to these situations then that’s even better, ‘cause it’s good to know that I’m not the only one who’s been constantly fucked over lol.”

Q.) What’s driving you?

A.) “Getting the fuck out of Flint & making sure that NONE of my family have to ever struggle. That’s what’s driving me. The fact that I know I’m meant to be more than what I am is what’s driving me.”

Q.) Who are your biggest supporters?

A.) “I’d say myself, but if we’re talking besides me I’d probably have to say my sister. She lowkey gets more excited than I do when I have new shit dropping.”

Q.) Are you signed to a label?

A.) “Nah.”

Q.) Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?

A.) “Maybe a distribution deal. I don’t know about a label deal though. It all depends on a few different things. One of the main things being that I’m not tryna be a slave & trap myself into a contract like I’ve seen multiple others make the mistake of doing.”

Q.) Who are some features that you have?

A.) “The biggest features of mine are from dylAn & Quatho. But some of my personal favorites are the songs I have with my boys Joeythemisfit & Klichè.”

Q.) Who are some features you want to get?

A.) “Holy fuck, this list is going to be long lol. But I’d love to work with Jaden Smith, $NOT, DC The Don, Destroy Lonely, Glaive, DDG, Aminé, A$AP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator, Childish Gambino, Kid Cudi, Kanye, AG Club, Lil Yachty, SoFaygo, KennyHoopla, Ronnie Radke from Falling In Reverse, & HELLA more people.”

Q.) Who’s one person dead or alive that you’d want to work with?

A.) “X without a doubt. I know we would’ve made some CRAZY shit. RIP Jahseh.”

Q.) Is there anybody else you want to shout out for any reason?

A.) “Shouts out any girl that broke my heart. I made some bangers because of the bullshit.”

Q.) What are you currently working on?

A.) “I’m working on a project right now called “Melanincholy” & a project I’m not gonna release the name of yet. They’re completely different vibes honestly.”

Q.) What is your latest release?

A.) “As of right now, the last project I released was “Cozee Wants Rage! xD”. Make sure to keep streaming it up. I got a new music video coming soon to a song from that project.”

A.) “Later this Month & right before Halloween.”
