GUN40 was from Memphis and originally moved to Dallas when he was 14 years old. He stayed with his uncle at the time and he had a love for music. The street life got a hold of him he liked being out in the streets and he fell in love with hustling anything from music to whatever was sellable. He caught his first big break in 2015 with his music and never looked back when he signed his first major deal in 2019 to Dej Jam, eventually he left and went independent.
His recommendation is to stay indie because at the end of the day it is more satisfying to do it by yourself or with your team that you built over the years, it also makes the journey a more appreciative route.
