1. What’s your name?
I’m known as Mansa Don; also Mansa Olu, or just Mansa.
2. Where are you from?
I come from all over the east side of Metro Atlanta, but I was mostly raised in East Atlanta, Ga.
3. How old are you?
I’m currently 23, but turning 24 this summer ‘23.
4 .When did you start making music?
I’ve written music, lyrically, since I was a child. I just started recording & releasing as of 2022.
5. How serious are you about your career?
Music is absolutely the plan, but I would be a fool if I said I put all my eggs in this one basket.
6. Have you ever thought about quitting music?
I have never thought about quitting. Music is truly life; music is truly culture.
7. Who inspires you the most?
Who inspires me musically/creatively; that would be J. Cole. A person whom inspires me in life is the Honorable Malcolm ‘X’ Shabazz.
8.What got you into making music?
I have been into making music my entire childhood, but what truly pushed me towards it was having an outlet to talk about things. It gave me a chance to talk about what’s personal, what’s historically relevant, and, sometimes, a way to have fun.
9.Who is your favorite producer?
My favorite producer, one of them at least, is J. Cole. The song Hiipower is what truly persuaded me towards Cole as a producer.
10. What is one of your best songs/beats?
One of my best songs, I would say, is the one entitled ‘12’. That one is a personal one that is near & dear to me.
11. Are you signed to a record or label?
I am currently an independent artist.
12. Have you ever performed?
I have performed a few times. Karaokes & open mics, mostly.
13. Who would you most likely collaborate with?
I would collab with either JID or Qiyah Abdul.
14. If you could open for any artist who would it be?
I would choose to open for J. Cole.
15. What’s next for you?
What’s next for me is to keep working & staying true. I’ve got so many projects & ideas that are being worked through constantly, musical and otherwise.
