What is your name/stage name?
Sensai Bash
Where are you from? I’m from the Carolinas
What do you do? I work in a warehouse like the average Joe, but music wise I’m make hip-hop.
How long have you been making music? I’ve been writing music for 15 years. I’ve been taking it serious about 6 months. Doing something like this isn’t really popular where I’m from. We have Petey Pablo, DaBaby, and J Cole.
What was your first song/project? My first song was a song I made called Push It. I recorded it over a Rick Ross beat.
Who’s your inspiration? Hip Hop itself. I grew up in a time when Hip Hop was dope. I then seen it fall off, but then the Wayne Era picked back up. Then I saw Kendrick J Cole and Drake remain the kings of the mumble rap era. Sharing my opinion those three kept lyrical Hip Hop alive during that time.
What was it like working with Mo Black?
Dude is so creative it’s crazy. He lets me come and rap on some of the hardest shit I’ve heard. That’s my dog and wherever I go he goes and he’s going to be there with me every step of the way. Even if I’m working on another project. I’m still going to ask for his input. I value his opinion and he values mine. He’s not a rookie either he’s been doing this for a minute too. Big Ups to MoBlack Productions.
What are some features you have? I have plenty of features with Mo, but outside of camp I have a feature with David Mills. It’s called In The System. It was after I released my first mixtape under the name Blaq Reel. In was called The Mind of A Geek I think it’s still on YouTube. But anyway dude had hit me up because he saw me freestyling at my cousin Tookie house. After the that he had invited me and Took to his house where he had a home made studio. We laid down a verse and I left. Never heard back about the verse, but I wasn’t thinking about it. After that a dude named Nycstro hit me up and he said that David had booked a mixing session with him. Now Nycstro is like big in the local Hip-hop scene in Spartanburg SC. So I hit him back like ok cool. After that we laid down In The System and the rest is history.
Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with? Michael Jackson.
Are you signed to a label? No but I’m affiliated with MoBlackProductions.
Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none? If anything a distribution deals. I know we can make them numbers jump with the right team.
Who are your biggest supporters? Everyone really because the randomest people who don’t even follow are the ones sharing my content or liking my content.
What are you currently working on? I’m working on a song called Ultra. It’s Dragonball inspired. And I’m dropping it soon.
What is your latest release? My latest release is the WAR EP found on Spotify and other major platforms.
When is your next release? My next release is called Ultra coming out in April.
Where is one place you want to travel to perform? The UK. I just think that linking up with some drill or early 2000’s grunge rappers would be dope. It’s a different sound and I always wondered if we could calm down the melody of grunge and drill rap and add some west indies melodies into it. I just want to Collab with different artists from different cultures and add some of my own flavors and create something new.
What’s the biggest crowd that you have performed for? I’m just starting out but I’ve performed for about 50 people. Open Mic show got a lot of praise and recognition for it.
Who’s someone you can see yourself on tour with? J Cole all day. The way he rocks with the Dreamville team just looks so chill. It’s like the vibe is laid back and chill. Then being able to chill with J.I.D, Bas, and EarthGang. I just know I’m going to get a track out of somebody.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Honestly I don’t know. This music thing is just a dream where I’m from. So I either could be comfortable chilling doing what I love and building for myself. Or I could remain the average Joe who continues to make music just because I love it. Only The Most High Knows.
