Mariah The Scientist recently opened up to her followers in a heartfelt Instagram Live video, sharing the “devastating” news that she couldn’t celebrate her three-year anniversary with Young Thug. The singer explained that she had driven all the way to the jail where her partner is being held, only to be told the system was down, leaving her unable to visit him.
“It’s my three-year anniversary with Jeff, and I drove all the way to the jail,” Mariah said. She shared the lengths she went to, stopping at Party City on the way to pick up supplies to make her own “Happy Anniversary” sign. “I’m talking about Scotch tape and all of that,” she joked. “It’s through a screen, by the way. I was just trying to make it special, you know?”
But when she arrived at the facility, the news was not what she expected. “They told me the system was down,” she continued, clearly upset. “I’m devastated. I got cute. I put my ponytail in, did all this stuff, and now I can’t see my man on our anniversary. It’s just crazy. I had to let you in on my trials and tribulations.”
Fans Show Support and Share the Love
Mariah’s candidness about the whole experience has garnered an outpouring of support from fans who know how difficult these kinds of setbacks can be. Many people offered sympathy, and some even shared their own stories of missing important moments with loved ones.
