Kerry-Ann Phoenix is no stranger to the blend of Caribbean heat and urban cool. Originally from Jamaica, now based in Charlotte, NC, the singer-songwriter has spent the past nine years weaving her unique sound into the tapestry of R&B, EDM, Hip Hop, Reggae, and Inspirational music. After moving from Jamaica, she lived in Queens for many years. Inspired by powerhouse voices like Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, and Aaliyah, Kerry-Ann’s music is as emotionally rich as it is sonically diverse. Her smooth, soulful voice can transport listeners across genres, while her lyrics delve deep into themes of love, life, and empowerment.
Her music journey began with “Angels Calling Me – Rise,” her first project, and since then, she’s carved a path that has led to exciting collaborations, including working with none other than Rick Ross. And as if that wasn’t impressive enough, she has an upcoming EP in the works, with Pharrell involved in the creative process. This artist has big dreams and the talent to match them, and she’s not stopping anytime soon.
“I’d love to work with Timbaland,” she says when asked about her dream collaborator. “He’s a legend, and his sound is so innovative. He’s the kind of producer who can take my vision and elevate it.” That vision is already taking shape, thanks to talented producers like TURR from Poland, who is handling the production on her upcoming EP. The anticipation is already building, and fans can expect something fresh and boundary-pushing.
But it’s not just the studio where Kerry-Ann shines; she’s also captivated international audiences. Her biggest supporters hail from countries like India, Indonesia, and Laos, and she’s already setting her sights on performing in South Asia, where she feels a strong connection to her fanbase. “The energy in India is unreal. I can already see myself performing for thousands there,” she shares, with excitement in her voice.
And if you think Kerry-Ann’s journey is only about music, think again. In five years, she sees herself traveling the world, performing on grand stages, and even venturing into acting. “Music is my foundation, but I have so many other creative ambitions. I’m ready to take on the world in every way possible.”
Her latest single, “For Granted,” drops listeners into an emotional swirl of introspection and passion, a perfect example of her genre-blending style. The single promises a sneak peek into her upcoming EP, which is slated for release in September 2025.
