Lickity Schlick ; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Q.) What is your name/stage name?
A.) “Lickity Schlick”
Q.) Where are you from?
A.) “Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (GO BIRDS!)”
Q.) What do you do?
A.) “I am an Artist, Musician, Rapper, Creative Visionary, Songwriter, Actor, Screenwriter, Entrepreneur, Producer and Dreamer!”
Q.) How long have you been making music?
A.) “Publicly since 2021.“
Q.) What are you making music for?
A.) “So many reasons. For one, it’s my purpose and lifelong passion. Used to be a time when I foolishly abandoned the dream while I was going through a lot of dark shit.
Never thought it would be feasible to start a rap career back then because I let myself stupidly believe that a career as a white rapper with significant hearing loss wouldn’t amount to much. The desire to give it a real try never left. Deep down I always knew I would be good at it. It only took a global pandemic to breathe new life into my dreams.
Because all I did every single day during government mandated lockdown was teach myself how to make the sounds to go with the stacks of notebooks of songs I’ve written over the years.
I want to live my best life doing what I love to do and that’s tapping into my creative reservoir and letting the world see it.
I am just trying to do my part to restore some of the light in a real dark world. It’s up to all artists and creative types to do just that now more than ever!
The ultimate vision is for Lickity Schlick Entertainment to become THE premiere entertainment company in Philly (and out.)
Not just strictly focused on making music but eventually would like to also get back into the film industry.“
Q.) What’s driving you?
A.) “A lot of things really. I want to be able to see and experience everything this world has to offer.
I also want to get new hearing aids, like the cutting-edge stuff. That’s one greedy industry I want to get my hands on and change. So many people out there deserve to be able to hear and should be able to afford tech that can improve their lives dramatically.“
Q.) Who’s your biggest inspiration?
A.) “I have a lot of inspirations but from everyday people not just famous ones. But if choosing someone famous it would have to be Keanu Reeves.“

Q.) What genre of music do you create?
A.) “Mostly Hip-Hop but I’ve been experimenting with expanding my tastes and vocal range. I’d love to make a metal or hard rock focused track sometime.“
Q.) What are some features you have?
A.) “None yet other than my engineer on the track called Royalty because he’s definitely talented beyond the board.“
Q.) What are some features you want to get?
A.) “Oh man there’s so many but I’d love to do something unique and different with someone like Billie Eilish on the chorus. But I’d love to work with rappers like NF, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar is STOUT. Lil Dickey’s from the same town as me so I’d love to do something funny with him sometime.
I love a lot of old school artists. Guys like 50, Fab, Cam’ron, Jadakiss, Luda, Nelly and of course the rap god himself Eminem were some of my earliest experiences of what an absolute banger sounds like. The perfect blend of a fire 808 thump, kicks and the rhythm of a beautiful melody.“
Q.) Who’s one person, dead or alive, that you’d want to work with?
A.)”Michael Jackson.“
Q.) Are you signed to a label?
A.) “Nah, I like my chances as an independent artist. I believe in my work enough for reason. I know what I got and what I’m truly capable of. It’s just a matter of putting it all together you know? I’m not against the idea of signing with someone it just gotta be a deal too good to pass up.“
Q.) Do you want a record deal, a distribution deal, or none?
A.) “See above response. But yeah, a record deal especially would be dope. I want to be able to fully focus on the creation and the art! What self-respecting artist wouldn’t? I just don’t want to find myself trapped in a contract that’s more than a couple years and taking way too large a cut off my earnings being kicked back more so towards a labels favor down the road.“
Q.) Who are your biggest supporters?
A.) “My dog is my biggest fan haha nobody has to listen to me rehearse more than her and she puts up with it.”
Q.) Where did your name come from?
A.) “Well I’m the original Joey Shiesty baby haha.. As for my stage name: An old friend couldn’t remember my last name when we first met (which is Schuck) but he started calling me Schlick. Next thing I know everyone began calling me Schlick and so I just went with it when I began creating my socials. I always liked the term Lickity split so I decided on Lickity Schlick as a possible stage name long before I began to actually start a career. In a weird way it kinda just rolls right off the tongue?“
Q.) What are you currently working on?
A.) “The next couple songs. I’m releasing a song this month 9/18(Anti-Hero) and next 10/8 (Nobody Cares) and then Manifest Destiny will come later at the end of the year.“
Q.) What is your latest release?
A.) “August tenth I dropped my deepest cut called Heaven. It’s about my convos with God. I never really had a chance to promote it much but that’s okay bc the song is emotional, personal and good enough that it will get to the people and reach out and speak to whomever it needs to. I am but my Lord’s humble instrument.“
Q.) When is your next release?
A.) “9/18 I will be dropping ‘Anti-Hero’ which is a track about a rogue superhero in his quest to implode the federal government. It’s just a story. It was a very challenging track to create and I’m super proud of the work that we put into it and the result can attest to that!“
