Stephen Napoli, better known by his stage name Reptile, is a rising hip hop producer hailing from St. Augustine, Florida. With his unique sound and style that blends underground, ambient, and drill sub-genres, Reptile has quickly gained recognition within the music industry. His musical influences include Zaytoven, Maaly Raw, Glohan Beats, and DP Beats, and he is known for his creative process that involves rolling up, letting his mind pour out freely, and creating beats that touch the hearts of his listeners.
Reptile‘s main goal as an artist is to provide comfort to his listeners and let them know that they are not alone in their struggles. He aims to convey this message through his music, which is evident in his latest project, an EP with vocals and beats all done by him. The inspiration behind this project is the importance of embracing one’s uniqueness. Reptile has also collaborated frequently with Jxlu, a high school friend who started rapping around the same time he started producing.
Despite working full-time while pursuing his passion as an independent artist, Reptile has sold his first beats in December 2020, a milestone that has given him a great sense of accomplishment. He hopes to continue to produce and work with as many artists as possible, and he believes that his authenticity and individuality in his music stem from creating what makes him happy, regardless of what others feel.
Reptile‘s positive mindset, mentality, and mental health are essential in his journey as an artist, and he believes that having a good attitude and being in a positive state of mind during the creative process can bring the best results. He acknowledges that social media is a downfall of his and plans to improve on it. Still, he remains focused on staying true to himself and his music, hoping that his listeners will take away the message that no matter what, there is always an escape.
