In a surprising twist, Harlem rap legend Cam’ron has filed a lawsuit against J. Cole, claiming the Dreamville frontman failed to honor an agreement tied to their 2024 collaboration, “Ready ’24.”
According to TMZ, Cam alleges he agreed to contribute to the song in exchange for Cole either appearing on his and Ma$e’s sports talk show It Is What It Is, or lending his talents to one of Cam’s future projects. Over a year later, Cam says neither happened.
The lawsuit also claims Cam wasn’t properly compensated for his contribution and is now seeking to be named co-author of the record to secure royalties from the track’s earnings.
J. Cole, who released “Ready ’24” on his surprise mixtape Might Delete Later, has not yet responded publicly. Fans have noted this could further delay his long-awaited album The Fall Off, which Cole has been teasing for years.
