Austin Sorrells, better known by his stage name DJGASSS, is an emerging music producer from Arkansas with a style that’s truly out of this world. From being bullied in school to coping with the recent loss of his girlfriend, music has always been there to lift him up. Over the last five years, DJGASSS has honed his beat-making skills, steadily improving and perfecting his craft. 2022 marked the turning point when he started sharing his work publicly, and since then, his journey has seen some notable milestones. Although he hasn’t sold a beat yet, his achievements are already impressive. Since relocating to Arkansas in 2023, DJGASSS has competed in three music tournaments, placing in the finals for each one. From securing fifth place in Joliet, Illinois, to earning third place in Memphis, Tennessee, his relentless hard work has taken him across the map. He was even set to perform at a major event in Miami in late 2024, but unforeseen changes shifted those plans.
DJGASSS’s sound is eclectic and deeply inspired by artists like Juice WRLD and MGK. His approach to music is all about energy and positivity, and whether he’s DJing or performing, his infectious enthusiasm lights up the room, leaving a lasting impression on audiences. He dreams of finding the right voices to elevate his unique beats to the next level.
Despite the challenges of being an independent producer, DJGASSS pushes forward. The road hasn’t been easy—he’s faced obstacles like navigating the music industry while balancing work alongside his career. But for Austin, music is more than just the pursuit of success; it’s his passion and daily fuel, regardless of fame or fortune. His relentless drive and growth as a producer are reflected in his music, which has evolved from simple loops on a $30 phone to complex compositions with layered effects.
Currently, DJGASSS is focused on promoting the 100+ beats he’s created and rebuilding his social media presence to connect with a wider audience. He’s optimistic about the future and open to learning from industry professionals, even expressing interest in potential distribution deals or collaborations to help him grow further as an artist.
