Kendrick Lamar sent hip-hop fans into a frenzy on Monday after several of his major releases unexpectedly disappeared from streaming platforms. The sudden removal of his album GNX and the Drake diss track “Euphoria” from Apple Music immediately triggered confusion and conspiracy theories online.
At the same time, music videos for “Not Like Us” and “luther” vanished from YouTube, adding even more fuel to the speculation. However, the situation was eventually resolved as the videos were re-uploaded to YouTube and the missing music returned to Apple Music later in the day.
Despite the restoration, fans continued searching for answers, especially with Drake preparing to release his highly anticipated album ICEMAN this Friday. The timing led many users online to wonder whether the removals were part of a larger publicity move tied to the ongoing aftermath of the Drake and Kendrick rivalry.
During a discussion on The Breakfast Club, media personality Loren LoRosa revealed that representatives connected to Kendrick’s label reportedly had no clear explanation for what happened either. According to LoRosa, the confusion appeared to exist internally as well, making the situation even stranger.
She suggested the removals may have been caused by some kind of hack or technical issue, a theory that Charlamagne tha God also entertained during the segment. Charlamagne added that if Drake supporters were somehow involved, the move may have backfired by drawing even more attention toward Kendrick Lamar’s catalog.
The conversation also touched on recent rumors surrounding Drake allegedly targeting DJ Khaled on ICEMAN. According to LoRosa, Khaled reportedly denied having any problems with Drake and expressed uncertainty about whether any diss tracks are actually coming.
As Friday approaches, speculation throughout the hip-hop world continues to intensify. Between the mysterious streaming removals, rumors of new disses, and the anticipation surrounding ICEMAN, fans are preparing for what could become another major chapter in the ongoing tension between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
Even without saying a word, Kendrick once again proved just how much influence he holds over the culture.
