INTERVIEW
GEN Z: Can you tell us about the concept behind the “Conversations” music video?
MAKEOUT SHINOBI: The video uses a projector to create an innovative narrative technique. It visualizes themes of love and loss through sequences of me interacting with the projected image of my love interest. Initially, the scenes are warm and joyful, but they gradually take a darker turn, mirroring the deterioration of the relationship.
GEN Z: What makes this music video special for you?
MAKEOUT SHINOBI: The unique storytelling method using the projector visually captures the essence of presence and absence. It portrays my emotional journey as I come to terms with the end of the relationship, adding an ethereal, almost ghostly quality to the narrative.
GEN Z: Who directed and edited the video?
MAKEOUT SHINOBI: The video was directed by @Bussant and edited by @ClubDeCarlo at Free The World TV. They have been involved in several acclaimed projects and are known for their creative and impactful visual storytelling.
GEN Z: What was your favorite moment during the making of the video?
MAKEOUT SHINOBI: My favorite moment was capturing the transition scenes where the mood shifts from light to dark. It was a powerful representation of how relationships can change, and visually depicting this through lighting and cinematography was both challenging and rewarding.
GEN Z: What was the most challenging part of making the music video?
MAKEOUT SHINOBI: The most challenging part was coordinating the projector scenes to match the narrative flow and ensuring the transitions between joyful and darker moments felt seamless. It required precise timing and careful planning, but the end result was worth the effort.
GEN Z: How has the music video been received by your fans and viewers?
MAKEOUT SHINOBI: The music video has been highly praised for its artistic direction and powerful storytelling. Fans have resonated deeply with the visual representation of the song’s themes, and the unique use of the projector has been particularly appreciated.
